Wars can never be benign


Wars are the cause of collapse of civilizations. Wars appear cheerful until it become lethal, suffocate its addicts leaving no way to escape. States often indulge in wars with an immunity from punishment even knowing the fact that their loses are more than the benefits.

Nations build their economies, energy and manpower and then wars become malignant to them without any preferential dealing. Serious efforts are made to end wars at individual as well as at state level with fruitful results. Adopting a peace strategy cut short the stimuli for wars.

Great nations never indulge in wars despite having the power to be victorious because they know the loses their nation will have after war with other countries. They rather adopt a synergetic approach and help the developing countries to combat poverty and hunger, increase education, build economy and ultimately achieve a win-win situation for all.

Gender equity is the process of being fair to women and men. To ensure fairness, strategies and measures must often be available to compensate for women’s historical and social disadvantages that prevent women and men from otherwise operating on a level playing field. Equity leads to equality. Gender equality requires equal enjoyment by women and men of socially-valued goods, opportunities, resources and rewards. Where gender inequality exists, it is generally women who are excluded or disadvantaged in relation to decision-making and access to economic and social resources. Therefore a critical aspect of promoting gender equality is the empowerment of women, with a focus on identifying and redressing power imbalances and giving women more autonomy to manage their own lives. Failed Education system seeking hide of corporal punishment

IHC bans corporal punishment for children at schools The Islamabad High Court on Thursday suspended till further notice a section of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) that allows for the use of corporal punishment by parents, guardians and teachers "in good faith for the benefit". A petition in the IHC, submitted by singer and rights activist Shehzad Roy, called for a ban on use of violence as a means to discipline children in school. In his petition, Roy argued that  Section 89 of the PPC  allows for use of violence and force against children. "Last year, a child passed away because of the use of corporal punishment in a school in Lahore," Roy's lawyer told the court while adding that the matter of abolishing the use of corporal punishment was of public interest.
