Education is a tool of National Development



Constitution of Pakistan promise the provision of equal education to all citizens. Article 24-A of the constitution holds the state responsible for provision of education until a child turns 16.

Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBHU) said;

"The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim man and women"

"If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise"

Right from inception, Islam focuses on quality education and has a long and rich intellectual tradition. Education can be used as a tool to improve the quality of life as it open the ways to economic independence. It is the responsibility of all stakeholders to remove all the gaps between the budgetary allocation and utilization of money to guarantee equal education to all the citizens of Pakistan. It is the content of education that leads the society towards peace, harmony  and prosperity and it needs instant political attention.

Equity and equality in Gender

Gender equity is the process of being fair to women and men. To ensure fairness, strategies and measures must often be available to compensate for women’s historical and social disadvantages that prevent women and men from otherwise operating on a level playing field. Equity leads to equality. Gender equality requires equal enjoyment by women and men of socially-valued goods, opportunities, resources and rewards. Where gender inequality exists, it is generally women who are excluded or disadvantaged in relation to decision-making and access to economic and social resources. Therefore a critical aspect of promoting gender equality is the empowerment of women, with a focus on identifying and redressing power imbalances and giving women more autonomy to manage their own lives. Failed Education system seeking hide of corporal punishment

IHC bans corporal punishment for children at schools The Islamabad High Court on Thursday suspended till further notice a section of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) that allows for the use of corporal punishment by parents, guardians and teachers "in good faith for the benefit". A petition in the IHC, submitted by singer and rights activist Shehzad Roy, called for a ban on use of violence as a means to discipline children in school. In his petition, Roy argued that  Section 89 of the PPC  allows for use of violence and force against children. "Last year, a child passed away because of the use of corporal punishment in a school in Lahore," Roy's lawyer told the court while adding that the matter of abolishing the use of corporal punishment was of public interest.
