A Quality Education Desired

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." Benjamin Franklin

We are behind quantity of education not in search of quality education. On the whole, the system is designed in such a way that we passed through several standards of education but end up having  lot of degrees and a pinch full of knowledge. Every year a specific amount of budget is allocated for education but that was invested in imaginary things rather than in practical solutions.

If I go 5 years back, we had PTI government in KPK and they worked a lot in education sector allocating a handsome budget and smart new techniques to boost the school going children ratio. They make efforts to make better the infrastructure of schools, allot smart phones with a software to schools for case of emergencies, curriculum was revised but the question raises where are the teachers-either their quantity or their quality. Most of the schools have two teachers and in our own village one teacher for 5 classes, she was the head teacher, she had to attend the meetings in school time and most interestingly she had to teach all five classes. If we compare with the private sector schools, they have separate teachers for each class, then how come students from private and public schools become equal.

I am not against the above mentioned benefits to the schools but I am of the point that first things come first, we at this stage do not need high walls, we need well educated teachers, invest in teachers so that they can better impart the knowledge as one teacher cannot fulfill all the duties of a primary school. Invest to increase the quality of education not waste the resources in unnecessary things.

I wish this year bring better changes in education system.
